Gladys Cooper

Dame Gladys Constance Cooper, DBE was an English actress whose career spanned seven decades on stage, in films and on television.

Cooper was born atEnnersdale Road, Hither Green, Lewisham, London, the eldest of the three daughters of Charles William Frederick Cooper by his marriage to Mabel Barnett . Her two younger sisters were Doris Mabel and Grace Muriel . Gladys Cooper spent most of her childhood in Chiswick, where her family moved when she was an infant.
